So the billionaires got screwed too with their own little pryamid scheme.

I don’t know what to say but I thought this was funny when I heard it.  Then again I find it funny when people have stuff fall on them so maybe my sense of humor is not for everyone.  Personally I figured all of these socialites were toasting their champagne and caviar to this guy, while he robbed them.

Life is a pryamid scheme.  We all pay or work for someone who in turns takes a piece of our money or work and pays the guy above.  Hopefully in the process you get a product you need or want.

Heres to being at the top of pryamid when it collapses.

p.s.  Amway is advertising on TV.  NO F****** way.

  • Millions, Billions, Trillions

I scratch my head at the numbers that are casually just thrown around in the financial crisis.  The numbers are so large they are essentially meaningless.  We have reached the point that no-one can risk stopping the game.  We have feed the monster so much debt it is now so big we can not anger it by not feeding it.

We basically have an 800ton gorilla that wants its Twinkies.  Unfortunately it also thinks we taste like Twinkies.  At this point we are at the stage that everyone involved is absolutely screwed.  I have yet to see a winner in this whole mess.  Who is making money on this?  Real Estate? Commodities? Military Industrial Complex? Tech Stocks?  I can’t seem to find who is going to make money on this.

In way that may be good since nobody is looking to get paid.  Just about everyone seems to be losing. I know the following is tongue in cheek, but perhaps we should just reboot.  Just pretend all of this did not happen.  A Re-Do like playing football when you were a kid and the ball hit a power-line or tree.

Part of me feels that all the bail-outs are nothing more then rearranging the chairs on the titanic.  Or maybe it is just a way for some very rich fat-cats to grab as much money as possible before the ship finally sinks.  Some how I feel the promises of the fat-cats of “We need to take the life boats to go find help” is going leave me in the icy waters.

Where is global warming when you need it.

  • My Search for Passive Income

    Orginally Posted : 18/09/2008

I have come to the conclusion that given my background in IT and my quest for extra income need to come together.  I do not have the time to search for part-time web work because of my full time job and the lack of consistency that it offers.  That and of course small businesses paying me my going rate.  Given these circumstances I decided to give this blogging thing a try.

I figured that I am opinionated (to a fault) and I have time to write a few posts a week.  I also believe I have some pretty entertaining insights.  How humble of me.  I also have an interest in both economics and beer.  So the title of the blog should be appropriate.  In addition I will touch on things like cars, relationships, and the occasion political comment.  The politics will probably come up more then many will want and those posts will unfortunately develop into firestorms of comments.

As a general summary of my thoughts on economics it comes down to a very true euphemism.  “Nothing is free.”  In my posts I hope to give you unique insights or at the very least expose a rather evident truth you may have already know but never applied to economics.  My post “It’s all about getting laid” will open your eyes into how we as human beings react to day to day economics.  In addition to these posts I will also be reviewing beer.  These two things may seem ways apart but when one thinks about these two things they end up being together.  After all you were not drinking orange juice the last time you discussed tax cuts, strong coffee maybe but not orange juice.

I hope you enjoy the blog and visit often and occasionally donate or pick up one the books I have listed.  Especially “The Arm Chair Economist”.
